Invisible locks: a good tactic against intrusions

In terms of security, magnetic locks offer the advantage of being invisible and not accessible from the outside.
Whether it's a burglar or a squatter, after picking the main lock, the door will not open.
Intrusion becomes complicated and time-consuming because the perpetrator has no idea of the type of additional locking used and cannot attack an unknown mechanism.

A magnetic lock can be adapted to wooden, metal, aluminum, and glass doors.
PVC doors are generally not suitable for the use of magnetic locks, although some models accept them.
Make sure to check with the manufacturer before attempting to install this device.

A 280 kg (600 lbs) magnetic lock offers a holding force suitable for most common uses.
However, for maximum security, it is recommended to upgrade to the higher model, which is 350 Kg of direct pull resistance.

Installation and optimal efficiency of a magnetic lock

Although magnetic locks are formidably effective, it is necessary to ensure the following points:

• Your door is strong enough and cannot be kicked in. The lock would be ineffective.
• Some doors may undergo distortion when attacked with a crowbar. The effectiveness of the magnetic lock is then reduced.
  In these circumstances, it is preferable to use 2 locks, one at the top of the door, and one at the bottom.
  In this case, even with distortion, both locks remain very effective.
• The installation of the lock must be in direct pull.
  The suction force of the electromagnetic lock is optimal only when the adsorption iron plate is face to face and in a straight line with the electromagnet.
  You will use the ZL brackets provided for this purpose if needed.
• The iron plate and electromagnet must be perfectly aligned. The position of the side plate must allow close contact with the iron plate.
  The force must be applied perpendicular to the surface. Any misalignment will significantly reduce the holding force.

Control of the invisible magnetic lock

In the "associated products", you will find relay models that can work with remote controls, WiFi (Tuya), or with a 433.92 MHz alarm system.

Important notes regarding the use of invisible locks.
As you understand, the lock is invisible, therefore not accessible from the outside and does not have a key to unlock it.
As effective against burglars as it is for yourself, if you forget your remote control, or if the battery is dead, you will no longer be able to enter your home!
With a WiFi device, if your phone is dead, it will be the same punishment: locked outside.

To avoid any such inconvenience, favor a double unlocking security, using 2 relays connected in series (not in parallel).
If one stops working, the second will cut the power to the magnetic lock and access to your home will be opened.

Safety during use:

Never put your fingers between the powered magnet and the iron plate. If the elements are close, it will pinch very hard and may injure you.
